Glazed beauty is having a moment – and the new glazed-donut nails trend is no exception. From frosted ’90s shadow to Hailey Bieber's glazed-donut skin, it seems like we're all trying to replicate the glistening gleam of a Krispy Kreme donut.

The look is currently taking over TikTok for its milky sheer colour and glossy finish, similar to that of a glazed donut. Unsurprisingly, the look has been a go-to for Hailey Bieber, who wore her shiny set to the Met Gala back in May and popularised the glazed-donut look with the launch of her skincare line, Rhode Skin

TikTok recently caught on to Hailey's elevated minimalist mani (the hashtag #glazeddonutnails currently has more than 5 million views) with tutorials flooding the video-sharing app on how to recreate the trend. It's also been recently spotted on the likes of Vanessa Hudgens and Sydney Sweeney.

According to Nick Drewe, a trend forecaster and founder of coupon website WeThrift, the glazed-donut trend is perfect for the make-under, natural vibes of summertime. “Everyone is switching for a more natural-looking nail,” he says. “The same can be said for hair and makeup, with minimalism, natural and toned-down looks being the latest craze. Summer is a time to tone back on heavy glam and embrace a softer, more natural look, as people head on holiday and to festivals and outdoor gatherings in the sun.”

Summer is also the best time for experimenting with nail looks. From bold shades of the best summer nail colours to Y2K-inspired butterfly nail art and jelly nails, there are plenty of mani options to pair with your rooftop cocktail. Glazed-donut nails strike the perfect balance—they're neutral with some extra oomph and perfect for any vibe or venue on your schedule. “The classic and neutral nail is a desired look in the summer season as the nail shade will go with almost any outfit,” Drewe says. “It's no surprise that many are drawn to this nail colour as it demonstrates elegance and subtlety.”

Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt is behind Bieber's glazed-donut sets and used OPI products to achieve the frosted shine. According to the brand, Zola started with a base of OPI GelColor Stay Classic Base Coat, followed by one coat of OPI GelColor in Funny Bunny, a sheer milky white. She then layered on OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat, followed by the OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can, all from the brand's professional range, to get a subtle iridescent finish. To seal the look, she topped everything off with another layer of topcoat. However, Hailey has been mixing up the shades and rocking her glazed donut nails in different nude tones. On a video shared to her own TikTok, Hailey wore OPI's Gel Color in Pale To The Chief thinned out with clear polish, but she stuck to OPI's Tin Man Can chrome dust.

Check out the below products to recreate Hailey's look. Side note: we've included nail polish alternatives as opposed to the gel colours mentioned above, so those aren't the exact products she used. The good news? You'll get the same shades AND you can easily apply them yourself (or with the help of your bestie) without having to use any at-home gel nail kits
