The best plus-size activewear to wear in 2024 and beyond
It's the start of 2024 and looking for the best plus size activewear may or may not have crossed your mind. I personally love an outdoor swim, cold plunge dip, park walks with the dog, intimate sound bath sessions and a dabble in a bit of yoga – even more so now we've entered a fresh year. If you're in the same mindset, are looking to try some new activities this year and are in need of a wardrobe update, I've found some of the best size-inclusive, functional and most importantly comfortable activewear brands for plus size women, that will not only have a great fit, but also make you feel confident and powerful.
We've come along way in the curve industry from basic black leggings and nude sports bras, and I'm excited of the range of labels currently offering extended sizes. The Nike Store Mannequin was a real moment in 2019 and I think companies are finally waking up to the fact plus-size bodies deserve movement as much as everyone else.

That said, if you want to make change in yourself this January, please do it for yourself, not through the pressures of anyone else. This is a rife time for toxic diet culture, so make sure you are looking after yourself. You deserve that. With that, here are some of my top plus size activewear pieces that even Sporty Spice would most certainly be tempted by.
1. Adidas
Size range: up to size 4XL and 48E in Sports Bras.
For me, Adidas is the OG trend based sports brand. From the 90s till now we've seen everyone repping these iconic three stripes from RUN DMC to the Ian Wright Arsenal Football collaboration in late 2023. They are fun, playful and empowering. It's very exciting that their bold style has now been extended into their plus size offerings.

2. Nike Plus
Size range: up to size up to a 4X.
Activewear used to be so boring for anyone with a large body. In comes the Nike Plus Size range, which not only uses visually plus models on site (10 points from me), but they are constantly dropping new, exciting pieces. Size range: up to size 6XL.
FUN colours, inclusive marketing campaigns, actual real plus size bodies with bellies on their social channels is why this brand is changing the game in the athleisure industry. They sell everything from staples such as gym leggings and cami tops, but also leotards, bodysuits and hoodies. These would be my Sunday dog walk must-wears.
4. ASOS 4505
Size range: up to size UK 30.
This is ASOS offering of their own inclusive activewear line with performance fabrics, classic shapes and staples for the gym and more. Available in petite, maternity, hourglass, tall, main as well as plus, this is a proper inclusive collection if you and all your friends were wanting the same look for any fun activities coming up this year. 5. TALA
Size range: up to size 4X.
Sustainable and ethical sportswear which has inclusive sizing, diverse imagery on site and in a range of fun bubblegum colours for each season? Hell yeah. It has an easy to navigate site with 2X - 4X with it's own section. I've got my eye on some of the sculpting pieces for some long weekend getaways.
6. Amazon
Size range: up to size 6XL but varies at each store.

They stock a lot of mainstream brands such as Under Armour, as well as new independent companies, worth a peek.

Size range: up to size UK 32.

RI-RI knows what she is doing with Savage X Fenty. Not only has she created an inclusive enterprise of empowering lingerie and loungewear, but also has created some very impressive activewear. Plus-size humans want access to next level pieces and she has created just that with her sportswear pieces. Sports bras with mesh details, glitter luxe cycling shorts with sexy cut out details and sculpting one pieces that you can wear to yoga and even styled up and worn to the club. She knows what she's doing.
11. New Balance
Size range: up to size 3XL.
My two favourite things about New Balance is not only do they offer Women, Mens and Children's apparel but they also have a gender neutral section, topping off with their range of wide fit trainers to cater from X-Narrow to XX-Wide, something I often think most leisure brands don't often cater to. 10 points to New Balance.

12. VERY
Size range: up to size UK 38 (dependent on which brand) which is fantastic.
Very is a destination shopping site that hosts a bunch of fantastic plus size options. Everything from Panache, Ellesse, Adidas, Converse to name a few. Well worth a peek.
13. La Redoute
Size range: up to size UK32
French born company La Redoute is the second most popular site in France for Women's apparel in particular, and they serve to the UK also. They have a fantastic range of activewear, lounge and homeware. Simple classics, but sometimes that's what we need.
