Love is in the air for... *checks notes* Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. The (somewhat) surprising pairing recently became the internet's latest obsession when the Kylie Cosmetics founder and Oscar-nominated actor went public with their romance at a Beyoncé concert in September 2023.
The couple has kept a very low profile over the past few months since news broke of their reported love connection, but more and more, they have attended various events together – including the recent Wonka premiere in London, where Kylie was reportedly ‘snuck in’ so as not to take any attention from Timmy.
Are unexpected relationships a la Kylie and Timothée more meaningful?
In fact, the pair have been supporting each other at a number of important work events recently – including an awards ceremony where Kylie was honoured with a gong for her successful business empire.
The pair sat at a table together, with Timothée watching on proudly as Kylie collected her award. And while the pair arrived separately and still haven't made their first red carpet appearance together, they did adorably match their outfits in black – so can we expect a colour-coordinated photo op any time soon?!
This relationship likely won't play out on a three-episode arc of The Kardashians, so here's everything we know about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's relationship thus far…
Early April 2023: DeuxMoi reports Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are dating.
The dating rumours caught fire during the first week of April via the celebrity gossip Instagram account DeuxMoi, which was lit up with anonymous tips about the potential coupling, including aforementioned rumours that the two would be attending Coachella 2023 together. While people claimed they had seen them together or have insider knowledge, nothing has been acknowledged, confirmed, or denied by Jenner or Chalamet. (Representatives for Kylie and Timothée did not respond to our request for comment.)
13 April 2023: Jenner's car is seen at Chalamet's home.
On April 13, TMZ shared photos of Jenner's car, a black Range Rover, parked in the driveway of Chalamet's Beverly Hills home. A day later, Page Six reported that Jenner and Chalamet were seen out on a “secret date" in L.A. at a popular taco spot. Timmy was allegedly picked up by Jenner's driver and taken to the restaurant, and the couple reportedly ate their tacos in the backseat of her SUV. Romantic!
This led many to believe that Jenner and Chalamet would hard launch their relationship at Coachella. However, while Jenner was in attendance with her besties Fai Khadra and sister Kendall Jenner, Chalamet was not.
"Kylie decided she didn’t want to make things public with Timothée this past weekend at Coachella," a source told ET, “and really just wanted to chill and have fun with her friends.” The source also seemed to suggest that Jenner and Chalamet met through mutual friends — one mutual friend in particular. "Timothée is also friends with Kendall," said the source, “so it’s been easy for Kylie to integrate him into her life.”
17 April 2023: A source confirms the pair are dating.
Shortly after Coachella's first weekend, Entertainment Tonight reported that Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were actually dating, like, for real. A source confirmed the rumors to ET, revealing that the wild card couple is currently “keeping things casual” for now.
"It’s not serious, but Kylie is enjoying hanging out with Timothée and seeing where it goes," the source told ET. "It’s been really fun for her because it feels a lot different than her past relationships. It’s new and exciting for Kylie and she’s having a lot of fun."
The Kardashian-Jenner family does love an unexpected boyfriend, like Kendall's recent public — and romantic — outings with Bad Bunny, and Kim's whirlwind romance with Pete Davidson. (Kylie and her on-again, off-again partner Travis Scott split for the second time in early 2023, several months after the birth of their son Aire.)
Social media did not take the Jenner and Chalamet news well, though. Timothée is one of the Internet's favorite actors, a constant boyfriend-of-the-month, and rumours of his relationship with Kylie are… a shock, to say the least.

"Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet dating is even more random than Kendall and Benito?!?!?" tweeted one user. "My life is over," wrote another. "The streets are saying Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are dating… The Jenners are collecting my men like Pokemons, signing OFF," mourned another. Others think this could be a song and dance planted by either star's team (cough, cough Kris Jenner) to distract the public. "I’m sorry but the Timothée and Kylie rumors have to be a cover up for something bigger," theorised one Twitter user.
28 July 2023: Jenner's ex Travis Scott appears to diss Chalamet in a song.
Jenner's ex Travis Scott released his long-awaited fourth studio album Utopia on July 28, and may have weighed in on her new relationship via the the seventh track “Meltdown" featuring Drake. Scott's song references Willy Wonka — the very character Chalamet will portray onscreen later this year: “Chocolate AP and chocolate the Vs (Vs), got the Willy Wonka factory (Vs) / Burn a athlete like it's calories, find another flame hot as me, b*tch.” It might not the most compelling diss of all time, but it certainly doesn't feel like a coincidence.
Jenner and Scott have had an on-again, off-again relationship for years; they have been co-parenting Stormi and Aire since their latest split in early 2023. “Kylie knows she and Travis will always be in each other’s lives, and they have an amazing coparenting relationship," a source previously shared of the former couple. “Part of her dating Timothée is in hopes of moving on from Travis, but that hasn’t happened yet. There’s always a possibility of reconciling with Travis at some point.”
2 August 2023: Rumours of a breakup are shut down by TMZ
On August 2, Life & Style reported that Chalamet “dumped" Jenner after seven months of dating. “She’s telling people that things between them naturally fizzled out because they’re both busy and travelling,” said the magazine's source, “Kylie is playing it casual, but her friends know this must sting.”
However, only a few hours later, TMZ published their own report that shut down those very Kylothée breakup rumors, calling the story one that “couldn't be further from the truth.” According to “multiple sources close to the couple,” Jenner and Chalamet are avoiding the public eye intentionally; their relationship is private, not over. One of TMZ's sources claimed “any reports that say otherwise are false,” while another advised the public “not to believe everything they read.” Well, then.
4 September 2023: Jenner and Chalamet are seen kissing at Beyoncé's Renaissance tour
Well, folks, it's official — Jenner and Chalamet are definitely a thing. The pair were spotted together at Beyoncé's 4 September birthday Renaissance show in Los Angeles, first chatting casually and then cuddling and kissing in the VIP section.
Yep, you read that right: cuddling and kissing.
In a video captured by a fellow concert attendee, the couple are seen dancing together, laughing, holding hands and kissing. Don't believe us? You can see the video of the pair for yourself here.
While we still don't have concrete proof that they're together-together (as in, a confirmation or denial from Jenner, Chalamet or their reps), these videos are certainly a compelling argument for Kylothée. Timmy on Kardashians when?
10 September 2023: the couple smooch at the U.S. Open
Kylie and Timmy attend the U.S. Men's Open Finals together, pictured kissing, snacking and generally just being adorable.
21 September 2023: Jenner uses a picture of herself and Chalamet as her lock screen
While posing for photos at the Prada show during Milan Fashion Week, Jenner gave a subtle nod to her boyfriend via her iPhone lock screen. Elle Mexico has the pics, and shared the images with the caption: “We meet Kylie Jenner upon her arrival at the fashion show @Prada in Milan and we couldn't help but notice [her] wallpaper.”

Their photog caught her with her phone in hand, and the image on its background is very clearly a pic of Jenner and Chalamet in a very cozy, up close and personal moment together. He's almost — but not quite — kissing her cheek in the zoomed-in couples selfie. (This is honestly really cute and relatable.) The pic probably makes Jenner smile every time she reaches for her phone.
Back in California, TMZ caught up with Chalamet in Beverly Hills and asked him about his romance with Jenner. While the actor didn't answer the queries, but he did give a little smile when her name came up. It's the subtlety for me.
25 September, 2023: Timothée and Kylie step out in Paris together
The couple were pictured hand-in-hand as they left their car arriving at a Paris Fashion Week event.
17 October 2023: Timothée makes his first comment about dating Kylie
Timothée starred on the cover of GQ in October, and gave a candid interview during which he was asked about his desire for privacy when he is spending his time with “one of the four most followed people on Instagram”.
He said: “This reminds me of that recent South Park episode with the Worldwide Privacy Tour,” referring to a parody of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
He added: “Sometimes, people are going to be hella confused when you say you’re trying to live a private life.”
1 November 2023: Kylie and Timothée attend the WSJ Magazine 2023 Innovator Awards, where they both appear on stage
Though they arrived separately, Kylie and Timmy reportedly looked pretty cosy at the event, which saw Kylie accept an award for ‘Brand Innovator of the Year’, and Timothée present director Martin Scorsese with the ‘Film Innovator of the Year’ prize.
Kylie was presented with her award by designer Haider Ackermann – a longtime friend and collaborator of Timothée's – who reportedly referenced the famous couple's relationship in his speech, jokingly mentioning Kylie's “very attractive lover” before welcoming her onstage. Cute.
November 11, 2023: Kylie supports Timothée's Saturday Night Live hosting gig
After Timothée's second successful go at hosting SNL, Kylie was seen arriving at the afterparty to support her partner – though again, the pair were not photographed together. Kylie arrived in a body-skimming black outfit, while Timothée dressed down in a hoody and jeans.
November 28, 2023: Kylie attends Wonka premiere alongside Timothée
She kept things super stealth by flying in incognito and not walking the red carpet, but numerous reports say that Kylie was in attendance at the Wonka premiere in London alongside Timothée – including fans, who claim they saw her at the same hotel as him, and at the event's afterparty.
December 4, 2023: A new report claims Kylie is “incredibly happy” with boyfriend Timothée
People magazine reports that things are going pretty well between the two stars, sharing quotes from a source that claims the pair are very supportive of each other's careers – and that Kylie is “incredibly happy” with him. It notes that “her family loves him,” too.
December 10, 2023: Jenner brings her mum Kris to the Wonka premiere
So Kris Jenner has now seen her daughter's boyfriend swim in chocolate. People reports that Kylie Jenner and her mum attended the Los Angeles premiere of the movie to support Timmy, apparently “slipping into the theatre following the film's opening credits.” Jenner has been a super supportive girlfriend during Chalamet's entire press run for Wonka — this is the second premiere she's attended for the film. On December 11, Jenner posted a selfie with her mum in the backseat of a car, headed out for a night on the town. “Mommy nights are the best nights,” she wrote in the Instagram caption. We wouldn't be surprised if this post was a later-gram and the two Jenners were actually on their way to the Wonka premiere in the pics.
January 7, 2024: Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet attend the Golden Globes together.
The couple made another official appearance together at Golden Globes 2024. The pair were spotted hanging out backstage at the Globes, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and they then made it to their table during an early commercial break where they were seen chatting, smiling and kissing.

Still no red carpet appearance for Kylie and Timmy, but award season is only just kicking off, so we live in hope.
